Muscat, 13 May 2018: The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) is organising the 2nd edition of Layali Ramadan, one of the most popular Ramadan events in the country. OCEC aims to bring back the successful elements from the last year’s event along with an additional array of activities in the newly opened convention centre section including the two new ballrooms.

Layali Ramadan’s key elements include - Iftar Layali, Souq Layali, Food Layali and Sports Layali. The event will take place from 17 May – 6 June 2018 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Iftar Layali is specifically for corporate bookings with dedicated private spaces for from 20 to 1,000 guests. Five-star catering is provided by OCEC’s catering partner; the InterContinental Muscat, and a complimentary microphone and screen is provided for each corporate event.

Souq Layali is the place to shop at Ramadan – a market featuring Omani specialities, clothing, jewelry, accessories, handicrafts, perfumes, souvenirs and collectibles. Souq Layali will be open daily from the 1st to the 20th  day of Ramadan from 11am – 2pm and 8pm – 1am.

A new addition to this year’s event is Food Layali, a vibrant food festival in the Concourse. Food Layali will be open to visitors from 24 May – 7 June between 6.30pm to 1am.

Escape the heat and come and join the Sports Layali at OCEC - activities and tournaments professionally managed within the Centre’s air-conditioned facilities. The event features Oman’s only indoor AstroTurf air-conditioned football pitch that is available to rent for corporate functions or just a game with friends. OCEC has you covered whether you are a fan of Football, Table Tennis or even PlayStation©. There will be a variety of attractions and rides for kids as well.

Trevor McCartney, General Manager of OCEC commented: “We are excited to introduce brand new areas of the Convention Centre with the launch of our Junior and Grand Ballrooms for  Ramadan this year!. We would like this event to be an occasion where all our guests can eat, shop, meet with friends and family and rejoice this Ramadan!”
